Grammy-winning rapper Eminem will once again lend his support to Shady Records artist 50 Cent on the G-Unit leader’s upcoming Before I Self Destruct follow-up.
According to 50, additional guest appearances include Lil Kim and the Unit’s Lloyd Banks.
50 Cent stormed Sundance over the weekend to announce his latest film ventures. While there, he also shared some other exciting news, revealing that he’s reuniting with Eminem for his next album. “I just flew from Detroit. I’m working with Em on my new album,” 50 told a reporter during the Park City festival. The hip-hop mogul has already collaborated with an impressive cast for his fifthstudio album including Lil’ Kim, Akon, Swizz Beatz, Busta Rhymes, and Lloyd Banks. (Rap-Up)
Earlier this month, 50 updated fans on the status of his forthcoming solo project.
“Here I am I’m back did you miss me? I was working on the album today. I think I’m 80 percent done,” 50 tweeted Saturday (January 15). (50 Cent’s Twitter)
In November, 50 spoke on the significance of dropping a perfect follow-up to 2009′s Before I Self Destruct.
“What [fans] are hearing are just my ideas,” Fif said in an interview. “This is my Detox album, it may take ten years and you gonna wait on it until it comes but when it do come, it’ll be perfect. I recorded 20 songs to a whole different album concept before I put that on the side and said I wanna do this, what I’m doing now. I’ma write until I feel like I have something perfect. I feel like music marks time and it’s important to put out the ‘right’ sound for that ‘right’ moment. Like my Curtis album, people said my Curtis album wasn’t good and it had ‘Ayo Technology,’ number one record on the album. It had ‘I Get Money,’ ‘I Still Kill’ featuring Akon, Robin Thicke, so many hit records on the actual album, I’m like, ‘What are you listening to?’ But I guess I look at it and say it’s timing…There’s nobody in hip-hop that possesses the ability to do what I do. I’m more exciting than these people. I genuinely believe that…” (MTV News)
Recently, 50 said he would take a different approach to completing collaborations for his latest album.
“I made collaborations [but] this time, I actually just wanted to create things and see if anything came out that I felt like otherartists should get on,” Fif explained in an interview. “My previous albums, I went in the studio with them — this time I’m making music and then trying to find ways to put them on the records. It’s more me even when it’s a collaboration. It’s them fitting into what I felt was right now as opposed to us making a total compromise.” (Maximo TV)
Since 50 Cent’s Get Right Or Die Tryin’ 2003 debut, Eminem has appeared on every solo LP released by the G-Unit leader.

Not long after 50 Cent and Ciara turned heads over subliminal tweets directed at one another, the alleged former romantic couple have become more direct and intensified their cyber exchange this weekend.
After being labeled a derogatory name by 50, Ciara questioned the rapper’s choice of words by posting a link to Queen Latifah‘s “U.N.I.T.Y.” 1990′s music video on Twitter.
“Who u callin a B*tch @50cent?http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f8cHxydDb7o,” Ciara tweeted Saturday (January 29) evening.
“They know what time it is- @50cent you suppose to hold a n*gga down lol RT @FreshJournalist: Whose Side am I on? @50cent or @ciara ??” (Ciara’s Twitter)
50 responded to Ciara’s remarks by asking her to fall back.
“@ciara now I’m not going back n forth with you on twitter now cut it out,” 50 tweeted back. (50 Cent’s Twitter)
Tensions between both artists arose after their subliminal messages hit Twitter Friday evening.
R&B songstress Ciara and rapper 50 Cent had a rumoured fling, and although she refuses to publicly confirm they had a relationship, everyone pretty much knows the deal. Anyway, Ciara had a rather awkward interview with 50′s rumoured new girlfriend Chelsea Handler during her ‘Basic Instinct’ promo rounds. However, Ciara and 50 still maintained their friendship, up until last night when the rapper tried to spread some twitter humor by calling everyone on his timeline a “b*tch”. However, Ciara did not take to it very well. (Toyaz-World)
According to recent reports, Ciara broke off her romantic ties with 50 a few weeks ago.
It won’t be a lonely Valentine’s Day for Ciara this year. The 25-year-old singer has taken a page out of pal Kim Kardashian‘s playbook and is dating a new NBA baller beau. So who’s the guy? And what does E! funnygal Chelsea Handler have to do with the budding romance? Ciara has recently begun seeing 28-year-old New York Knicks star Amar’e Stoudemire. “They’re keeping it on the DL, but they are dating,” a source tells us of the couple, who just recently took their friendship to the next level about a month ago. According to our source, Ciara, who has been dating rapper 50 Cent on and off for much of last year, officially cut off contact with the hip-hop star when he began hanging out with Handler. “When that Chelsea stuff started, she pulled away from him,” adds the source. “When you got a producer that has that kind of production track record, you even have to credit both Eminem’s success and my success to Dr. Dre as a producer. My first single off of Get Rich or Die Tryin’ — people constantly tell me it was a classic — was produced by Dr. Dre, ‘In Da Club.’ Without that momentum from that song, I’m not sure they would have taken to ‘P.I.M.P.’ the same way or ’21 Questions’ or any of the other hit records I released following that.”
-Multi-platinum rapper 50 Cent, discussing how much influence Dr. Dre has had on his ultra-successful career. Though the actual released date is in doubt (the rumors about the album dropping on April 20 have been established as false), it appears as though Detox will be showing up on the streets before 2011 has walked out the door. There are plenty of good signs, as the first single “Kush” has already premiered (along with a great video) and the second single “I Need a Doctor” (which features production by Alex Da Kid and some verses from Eminem) is about to drop any day.
Meanwhile, 50 Cent is also expected to drop an album this year (the hotly-anticipated Black Magic) and also has two finished films in the can (one called “Vengeance” that stars Danny Trejo and a second called “Blood Out” that is headed by Val Kilmer). He was recently spotted hanging out in Park City, Utah with the cavalcade of stars celebrating the Sundance Film Festival (which is where MTV News caught up with him).
